Superman Henry Cavill and his Lois Lane Amy Adams unite for steely photo shoot

Now that's a power couple! Superman Henry Cavill and his Lois Lane Amy Adams unite for steely photo shoot

British actor Henry Cavill and his co-star Amy Adams opened up to Interview magazine about their upcoming Man of Steel movie that reboots the Superman franchise with a lonelier version of the comic hero.
Henry, 30, portrays the famous alien sent as an infant to Earth to survive the destruction of his homeworld Krypton, who later becomes the planet's protector as Superman.
Amy, 38, plays reporter Lois Lane, the love interest of fellow reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet newspaper who also doubles as Superman.

Henry dug deep into his character and considered how he would feel having such extraordinary powers.
He mentioned how Clark has to make sure he doesn't unintentionally hurt people.
'For example, because of his, he can't just give his mom a big hug, because if he really hugs her hard, then she'll explode, so he has to find ways of conveying love without doing harm,' Henry told Interview magazine.

His character also has to keep his emotions in check and deal with the loneliness of being different.
'So in many ways, it's about how he learns to deal with the potential of his powers and keep them in check, but also how he winds up feeling entirely unfulfilled because of that,' Henry said. 'He is alone in so many ways.'
Amy said she had screen-tested over the years for the role of Lois Lane as the project changed directors and teams.

The actress said she grew up listening to a lot of musicals, but enjoyed action films, too.
'I've always really loved action films, but I don't see myself as a superhero girl, so my Lois is a mere mortal—full of imperfections. She's someone I identify with,' Amy said.
Man of Steel director Zack Snyder wanted her character to feel real, which meant a discussion about her hair colour.

Amy said she was asked by Zack if her hair was its natural color and she responded that she hadn't dyed it in a year.
The director told Amy he wanted her hair natural since Lois is a reporter and wouldn't spend much time dying her hair.
'So I think that he was interested in making his own stamp and not forcing some idea of who Lois was on the character and just letting her exist in this world of the film,' Amy said.
The June/JUly issue of Interview magazine featuring the interviews of Henry and Amy will be on newsstand on June 18.
The world premiere of Man of Steel was being held on Monday in New York City with the film opening in wide release on Friday.
