The end of the road: Kingsland Road are latest act to be eliminated from The X Factor after sing-off with Tamera Foster
Kingsland Road were the latest act to be sent home from the X factor after a tense sing-off with Tamera Foster.
The two acts with the lowest number of public votes – Tamera Foster and Kingsland Road – came as ‘a shocker’ to Gary Barlow and the other judges.
While Sam Callahan was both the judges’ and the bookies’ favourite to be eliminated, the singer received the largest number of public votes and was the first act to be saved.

The judges looked astonished at the results with Louis Walsh left open-mouthed while Nicole Scherzinger stood up to give Tamera some words of encouragement.
Kingsland Road were first up and gave all they had with a lively version of James Morrison’s hit I Won’t Let You Go.
While the boys looked visibly emotional towards the end of the song, their vocals simply weren’t strong enough to match a powerhouse performance from Tamera.

Tamera chose Whitney Houston’s classic ballad, I have Nothing, for the sing-off, giving a note-perfect rendition.
The singer also looked sensational in a plum bodycon dress with statement gold and diamante jewellery, wearing her dyed blonde hair in curls.
Nicole supported Tamera during the sing-off, standing up, jumping and singing along as her act fought to save her place in the competition.
Rivals: The boys were defeated by Tamera Foster, who sang I Have Nothing
The former Pussycat Dolls singer said that while it was ‘obviously hard’ for her as the finalists had given their ‘heart and soul’ every week, she had to choose her own act.
After hearing the decision, Gary Barlow told the show's host Dermot O'Leary: ‘These guys were together for two years before they joined us.
'They should stick with what they're doing. They are a hit band and they will be a hit band in the future I'm certain of it.’
He added: ‘I want to remind everyone out there that this is a singing competition. That's all I have to say.’
When it came to Sharon Osbourne, she was quick to give her verdict – Kingsland Road – with Tamera visibly shaking.
Louis Walsh described both acts as ‘incredible’, sending the boys home, while praising Tamera’s ‘star quality’.
On leaving the competition, the east London boy band, which includes members Josh, Matt, Connor, Thompson and Jay, said: ‘We loved it. Thank you Gary for everything.’
Tonight's results show also included performances by Little Mix and Taylor Swift, who sang a duet with Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody.
