Lily Allen pokes fun at Robin Thicke as she parodies sexist hip-hop videos in comeback promo for Hard Out Here

'Soz Ofcom': Lily Allen pokes fun at Robin Thicke as she parodies sexist hip-hop videos in comeback promo for Hard Out Here

Lily Allen has revealed her new song 'Hard Out Here' - and Robin Thicke needs to take over!
The video and the song's lyrics from her first original single since 2009 take on a proudly feminist message misogyny and sexism in modern pop culture.
She pokes fun at Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' video by dancing in front of inflatables that say 'Lily Allen has a baggy pu**y'.

She's got balls: The lyrics feature the lines 'forget your balls and grow a pair of t*ts, it's hard, it's hard, it's hard out here for a b*tch'

Fan may remember in the video for Robin Thicke's controversial summer hit a woman dances in front of balloons spelling out 'Robin Thicke has a big d**k'.
But Lily doesn't stop there. She also takes aim at the use of the word 'b*tch' in popular culture, with the chorus stating the word over and over again - giving radio DJs a hard time too it seems.

An obvious reference to herself getting back in shape for a pop career after she had a temporary retirement from the chart world, during which she launched a fashion business and became a mother.

The lyrics feature the lines 'forget your balls and grow a pair of t*ts, it's hard, it's hard, it's hard out here for a b*tch", which could be a spoof reference to Three 6 Mafia rap track Hard Out Here For A Pimp.

Her video comes amid heightened concerns about the portrayal of women in music videos.
Annie Lennox recently called for age-ratings for music videos because of increasing sexual images, and Miley Cyrus caused a stir when she appeared naked in the video for Wrecking Ball.
Chart-topping star Robin Thicke featured a number of models dancing topless in the video for his single Blurred Lines.
This not only inspired Lilly's new video, but previously prompted singer Charlotte Church to round on him during a keynote speech to the radio industry a month ago in which she highlighted the sexism of the music business.

Allen, 28, stepped back from the music world after promoting her 2009 album It's Not Me, It's You and had two daughters with her husband Sam Cooper - Ethel and Marnie.
'Hard Out Here' precedes the release of a new album from Allen in 2014. Earlier this year the singer revealed that her new album has some 'feminist vibes coming on.
And the single comes off the back of Allen's cover of Keane track 'Somewhere Only We Know', which can currently be heard on the John Lewis TV adverts in the lead up to Christmas.
The video must have already garnered complaints as Lily tweeted today: 'Oh Lawd. Soz Ofcom'
