- Fuller made the revelation during an interview at the Saturn Awards
- Show 'won't be bound by network standards as it's on CBS All Access'
- He also confirmed that the first season will consist of 13 episodes
The new Star Trek TV series is set to go where no Star Trek TV series has gone before – because it will be more graphic, according to the showrunner.
During a red-carpet interview at the Saturn Awards in Burbank Bryan Fuller said that because the series will be shown on CBS All Access, it means boundaries can be pushed.
This is because it won’t be bound by network standards.

Fuller, 46, told Collider: ‘Because we’re CBS All Access, we’re not subject to network broadcast standards and practices.
‘It will likely affect us more in terms of what we can do graphically, but Star Trek’s not necessarily a universe where I want to hear a lot of profanity, either.’
He also confirmed that the first season will consist of 13 episodes.
In May CBS released a new 50-second teaser for the reboot.
The teaser opened with a familiar view of Earth and the Moon, but the stars in the background soon started streaking indicating warp travel.

'CBS presents a new adventure,' said a deep voice-over.
A blue planet was shown fragmenting followed by a run through an asteroid belt and then another Earth-like planet that appeared to be dangerously close to an unstable glowing yellow star.
The tagline started with 'New Crews' followed with 'New Villains', 'New Heroes' and 'New Worlds'.
The video then showed the new logo - a golden striated version of the Starfleet arrowhead.
The teaser at the end included the opening notes of the theme music, composed by Alexander Courage for the original 1960s TV show.
Showrunner Fuller is a Star Trek veteran as he was previously a contributing writer on Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
The series will premiere on CBS with the pilot and subsequent episodes streaming weekly on CBS All Access.
