Jessica Alba reveals unlikely passion for refurbishing second-hand items from Craigslist

'I love vintage furniture!' Jessica Alba reveals unlikely passion for refurbishing second-hand items from Craigslist

While most celebrities are eager to spend thousands on furnishing their homes with brand new designer wares, Jessica Alba has revealed that she is addicted to buying second-hand furniture off of Craigslist.
The 32-year-old star, who covers Redbook magazine’s April issue, says that 'I bought my hot pink desk off Craigslist. I have a problem. I love vintage furniture, and refurbishing is one of the most eco things you can do.’
Ms Alba, a mother-of-two and an avid home decorator, added: ‘I also got a couple of cool chairs and Danish mid-century credenzas off of Craigslist.’

The actress - who has emerged as a stylish role model for working mothers with her all-natural baby product line, Honest - also tells the magazine that she met some of her closest friends at Mommy and Me class.
‘They’re some of my closest girlfriends,’ she said. ‘It’s weird when we’re doing normal mom things and there’s paparazzi around. That’s the only thing that makes everyone uncomfortable.’

When it comes to her parenting, she said she believes it’s natural for parents to kiss their children on the mouth, and has trouble understanding those who think it’s inappropriate, saying: ‘Why?! It’s your baby. People allow dogs to lick at their mouths.'
And after five years of marriage (she and Mr Warren have been together since 2004, and married in 2008), it seems even Ms Alba has ups and downs when it comes to her relationship.
There are still times when the couple don’t see eye-to-eye – especially when it comes to television preferences. ‘All he watches is sports. Fantasy football is so annoying—there’s always a game on,’ she told the magazine.
But Ms Alba did concede that: ‘He says I’m addicted to Instagram, so it goes both ways!’
Redbook’s April issue will hit newsstands on March 18.
Ms Alba is expected to appear in five films this year, including Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
The sequel to 2005's original Sin City film will hit theaters in August.
