'Thank-you for your messages. I'm very excited to be joining Good Morning Britain. I have loved being at BBC Breakfast & will miss the team,' she said.
She was the only woman on the sofa as the host of BBC Breakfast – but now Susanna will have to start sharing the limelight after defecting to rival ITV.
The presenter, 43, was officially unveiled as one of the stars of the channel’s revamped breakfast show Good Morning Britain yesterday... alongside a female host poached from Sky.

When the programme replaces Daybreak in April, Reid will be joined by 38-year-old Charlotte Hawkins, who is Eamonn Holmes’ co-host on Sky Sunrise.
Both have form on the dance floor – Reid was a runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing, while Hawkins appeared on rival ballroom show Dancing With Sky’s Stars.
Reid resigned from the BBC yesterday after accepting ITV’s £1million-a-year-offer.
Her departure comes despite her earlier dismissal of rumours that she had been poached by ITV, saying: ‘If you cut me open I would bleed BBC.’

It is thought Dominic Cotton, a former BBC sports reporter, was unhappy with her long absences from home and decision to spend weeks on the road with Strictly’s live arena tour.
The line-up on Good Morning Britain is completed by ITV presenter Ben Shephard, 39, and Sky Sports broadcaster Sean Fletcher, 38.
The new-look show is the fourth revamp to the channel’s breakfast slot since 2010 in a bid to boost flagging ratings, which have now slumped to around 600,000 viewers.

BBC Breakfast regularly draws an audience of 1.5million.
BBC sources yesterday admitted it was unable to match ITV’s pay offer, but insisted there was no ill-feeling.
ITV’s director of daytime TV, Helen Warner, said the channel now had a ‘first class roster’ of talent. Daybreak’s current hosts, Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones, will be moved to other slots in ITV.
