Once upon a time it was her older sister claiming the spotlight after establishing herself as the doyenne of the fashion world, but with Nicole Richie settled motherhood her place on the front row appears to have been claimed by younger sister Sofia.
The 16-year-old daughter of Motown legend Lionel Richie is winning plaudits for her distinctive style, and it was well in evidence over recent days at New York Fashion Week.
Stepping out on Monday, Sofia was on-trend in a quilted gilet and matching skirt ahead of the Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2015 Women’s Collection.

The ensemble was teamed with a tight fitting black top, while her blonde hair had been styled in a series of intricate braids.
Sofia was later spotted in her obligatory front row seat, where she shared a joke with fellow guests Amber Le Bon, Bella Hadid, Hannah Bronfman and Kesha.
Centre of attention throughout, she also mingled backstage with designer Tommy Hilfiger backstage at the Spring Studios venue.

The teen previously admitted her father is stricter with her because of her 33-year-old sister Nicole, who Lionel adopted in 1983 with his first wife Brenda Harvey.
She told ELLE magazine: 'My dad [Lionel Richie] is more strict because of my sister. I feel like now he's on the preventative side.
'It's not like I'm doing anything bad, but he went through all that with Nicole, so he's just strict to prevent it from happening again.'
