But Lupita Nyong'o took a fashion risk when she attended the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film premiere in London's Leicester Square on Wednesday night, sporting an otherworldly ensemble to promote J.J. Abrams' brand new installment of the space saga.
The Oscar-winning actress looked like she'd travelled from a galaxy far, far away as she made her grand arrival at the European premiere of the hotly-anticipated Disney film.

Lupita, 32, looked incredible in her edgy outfit, which boasted a quirky peplum frill at the waist and a metallic mesh skirt.
The sheer overlay highlighted her shapely legs and was embellished with a fringed trim for added style.
The 12 Years A Slave star complemented the futuristic look with edgy make-up and accessories, wearing a slick of bright blue lipstick and a mesh hairpiece.
She complemented the standout looked with dramatic gold earrings and a pair of metallic heels.

Lupita plays Maz Kanata, a pirate who has lived for more than 1000 years, in arguably the biggest film franchise of all time.
The stunning star revealed it took up to two-and-a-half hours for the crew to put 125 plastic stickers on her face to transform into her fearless character.
She recently confessed during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she had no clue what she was auditioning for when she first read for LOST creator J.J..

'It was crazy. I accepted this audition - I guess I thought I should find work, ya know. I didn’t really know what I was auditioning for I knew I was going in for J.J., but I was so busy.
'I was working with adrenaline so I went in and out. I barely remember that audition and then two months later he called me.
'There was a script from something else, you know they give you a substitute script. I remember crouching around and I was using my hands as a gun'

The film has already made UK box office history, selling more than half a million tickets for its opening week at one cinema chain alone.
The star-studded premiere is set to be attended by veterans Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, along with newcomers Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong'o and John Boyega.
Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson are also set to make appearances, as are actors Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker, who play C-3P0 and R2-D2, are also set to appear.
