Magic in monochrome! Rooney Mara stuns in white dress with black bow detail attending the BAFTA Tea Party in LA

With awards season getting into full swing, it was a case of another day another event for many of the acting world's talent on Saturday.
But that didn't stop those who are waiting to hear if they have been honoured from pulling out the stops when it came to their fashion choices.
Rooney Mara, was ahead of the pack with her choice of frock, as she was joined by a host of famous faces as she attended the BAFTA Tea Party on Saturday.

Held at The Four Seasons Hotel, in Los Angeles, the rain and cool weather did not deter the guests from pulling out the fashion stops. 
The 30-year-old actress is up for her first ever BAFTA nomination - best supporting actress - for her role in Carol.
Rooney, who is also up for a Golden Globe for Best Actress on Sunday, went for a monochrome ensemble with her tea dress.

The star wore her hair slicked back in a side parting, wearing barely there make-up and nude nails, which seems to be a running theme on the red carpet.
She was joined on the red carpet by her Carol co-star Cate Blanchett. 
Both women are up for awards in the same category at The Golden Globes  - the tale is about a love affair between two women, and is based on the book The Price of Salt.

She also went for a simple look with her hair, wearing it in a side parting.

Jane Seymour, 64, also looked much younger than her years, wearing a sparkly cardigan teamed with a simple black dress.
She was joined on the red carpet by Golden Globe nominee Brie Larson,  who went for an unusual tassled skirt which featured bands of orange, red and black. 
Her white camisole could be seen underneath her sheer top.

She wore her hair pulled back in a simple style and wore a slick of tangerine gloss on her lips.
Meanwhile Saoirse Ronan was pretty in peach wearing a top and skirt which featured detailed long sleeves.
Emilia Clarke looked foxy in a black leather panelled skirt, which featured a thigh high split.

The men were flying the flag for fashion with Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Ruffalo wearing dapper suits, and Dennis Haybert going blue shoes to match his garb.
Ed Westwick was looking particularly sharp in an ensemble featuring a beige coloured suit and dark shoes.

Priyanka Chopra went for some va va voom with her dress - it featured bands of black and nude on the bodice, a full skirt with floral detailing and teamed it with a pair of pumps which had hexagonal crystal embellishments.

Christina Milian didn't seem to be sure if she was wearing a skirt or trousers, with her very unusual choice of garb.
The singer showed off a sliver of midriff in the outfit, and sported yellow talons. 
Alicia Vikander was low key in a simple striped dress, while Sarah Rafferty was literally seeing spots with her choice of a white dress which featured a polka dot print.
The annual BAFTA Tea Party is a staple fixture in the Los Angeles awards season calendar.
It welcomes nominees, members and guests for what it calls a 'uniquely elegant gathering.'
