It's that time of year again when the Angels are preparing to walk down the runway for the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

And to warm up for the main event - held during the festive season - two of the lingerie giant's biggest names, Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel, have posed in a sexy photo shoot.

The two women strip down into an array of lacy lingerie for the snaps, which have a distinctive festive theme.

Candice, 24, is simply angelic in a series of dreamy white and cream underwear sets that accentuate her flawless figure.

The blonde beauty also dons a pair of VS's iconic angel wings as she seductively poses in a black and white lace bra paired with a red and white lace waspie.

In other shots, Candice's shoulders are decorated with large tuffs of tulle as she lounges in a sparkling bra and panties set.

Meanwhile, fellow VS angel Lily Aldridge sizzles in an array of red for the boudoir.

The 27-year-old brunette beauty shows off her tight abs in a floral red, pink and white bra as she clutches onto a pair of giant fluffy wings.

The wife of Kings Of Leon rocker, Caleb Followill, also models some very sexy and silky nightwear, wearing a lacy negligee and matching satin robe.

Candice and Lily also slip on some of Victoria's Secret day and nightwear for the catalogue.

The new shoot comes ahead of Victoria's Secret annual Fashion Show, which will take place in November and be aired on CBS on December 10.

Recently Victoria's Secret creative director, Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, revealed the 'terrifying' casting process models must go through to secure a spot in the annual runway show.

Even the Angels, like Candice, Lily, Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss, must submit themselves for pre-inspection.

'They all have to do it - even the contracted girls - and it's incredibly nerve-wracking for them,' Neophitou-Apostolou told Vogue UK.

It's quite terrifying for [the models]. . . They are provisionally cast by John Pfeiffer but the final decision is made by the whole team, sitting at this long table in a room with really harsh lighting and they have to walk towards us and away from us,' she added.

Neophitou-Apostolou, who famously dismissed Kate Upton last year for looking 'like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blonde hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy,' is also the editor of 10 magazine.

'It's about being show-ready,' she said.

'It's really like being an Olympian - they have to be in peak condition. It's not about being thin or anything like that - it's about being ready to perform and be the best you can be in that moment.'
