How celebrities shared their own intimate social network images from the Golden Globes

Beyond the red carpet: How celebrities shared (and over-shared!) their own intimate social network images from the Golden Globes

They were the main focus of media attention at Sunday's Golden Globes in Los Angeles.
But many of the celebrity guests clearly couldn't get enough of the spotlight as they posted their own images from the star-studded annual ceremony.
Using Twitter and Instagram, performers from across the industry publicly shared their own private experience of the film and television awards - with varying degrees of controversy.

The most eyebrow-raising contribution probably came from The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco, who created her very own human equivalent of the Golden Globes - with her breasts.
Seen posing with co-star Melissa Rauch, they each grab their chests and pull comedy faces at the camera. They then uploaded the picture to Instragram with the caption: 'Holding our golden globes at the golden globes :)'
Clearly enjoying herself, she followed it with a second photograph of herself and Tara Swennen being 'photo-bombed' by Heidi Klum. 'Greatest photobomb of all time!' she declared.

A short time later Heidi posted her own photograph - specifically, of her at a chocolate board with a glamorous pal, but that was just one of several shots she shared throughout the day.
Hours earlier she showed herself being packed into a waiting car with an entourage of assistants.
The food theme continued when Drew Barrymore and Emma Roberts posted pictures of themselves eating fast food - both before and after the glamorous event.

Drew, who is currently expecting a second child with husband Will Kopelman, described the snack as 'pregnancy pizza' to her thousands of followers.
Meanwhile, proving that it's not all glitz at the annual bash, Emma can be seen tucking in backstage while an assistant wrestles with her hair style.
However, despite the event's global profile, some celebrities clearly forgot to mark the awards in their diary. In particular, Kelly Osbourne took to Twitter  to say: 'Just realized that the golen globes are this weekend!!!!'

She then calls out to E! presenter Giuliana Rancic to say: 'Call me...we need to talk dresses'.
Thankfully, the panic didn't last long and Kelly was soon tweeting images of gold earrings for her to wear on the red carpet.
It wasn't just the women who were busy online, but rapper Sean 'P Diddy' Coombs also took to Instagram to share a picture of himself getting dressed in his hotel room.

But not all of the online activity was considered helpful or positive.

Singer Taylor Swift shared the embarrassing news that a sewage pipe had burst at the site's entrance, drenching the walkway in sludge.
'Let's just go in our jammies this year!', she posted.
But that was nothing compared to the direct and personal dig Mia Farrow made at Woody Allen.

The prolific star received the Cecil B DeMille award for outstanding contribution to entertainment - an accolade collected on his behalf by Annie Hall star Diane Keaton.
However, when it was presented, Mia took to twitter to write: 'Time to grab some ice-cream and switch over to Girls'.
Fortunately, acclaimed director Lars Von Trier wasn't going to let it go unchallenged - he leapt to Allen's defense by saying: 'and that's why you're single'.
