She rose to fame as the geeky girl in the hit series Ugly Betty.

But America Ferrera proved those days are far behind her as she attended the premiere of Cesar Chavez in Hollywood on Thursday.

The 29-year-old actress displayed her slender shape in a strapless pale yellow and pink dress.

The brunette beauty opted out of wearing a necklace and styled her locks into a relaxed ponytail.

Coordinating with her co-star, Rosario wore a pale pink down that similarly plunged at the neckline.

This seems to be a pattern as they promote their film - which is a biopic of Mexican-American civil right activist and labor organizer Cesar Chavez - as the pair also matched at the premiere in Washington D.C. on Tuesday.

Rosario, 34, plays activist Dolores Huerta in the Diego Luna-directed film.

She recently told the New York Daily News how the film ‘humanised’ the story of the Mexican rights leader.

'Diego touched on a lot of different aspects of the movement, and the reality and the temperature of the time, as well as the day-to-day sacrifices that everyone had to take on.'

'The film doesn't idolise anyone, it doesn't put anyone on some sort of false pedestal. I think he humanized the entire process.'

Cesar Chavez is set for release in the US on March 28.
