Oxford educated Emilia landed her Terminator: Genesis role thanks to her success in Game Of Thrones.
The actress was plucked from relative obscurity to play Daenerys Targaryen in HBOs epic fantasy drama.
With the vastly ambitious show – on the verge of returning for a fourth season – filmed across a diverse range of locations in Northern Ireland, Morocco, Malta, Croatia and Iceland, Emilia admits she does her best to keep herself occupied when she’s on the road.
‘The other actors on the show are my family and, when I'm not on set, I'm reading,’ she said.
‘My father always said, 'Never trust anyone whose TV is bigger than their book shelf – so I make sure I read.’
And, contrary to speculation, Emilia, 26, confirms that she is currently single.
‘People keep asking me who I'm dating right now and the truth is…wait for …no one,’ she told the April edition of the mag. ‘And that's OK. I'm figuring out a lot of stuff right now.
‘I think as a woman it’s in our nature to nurture someone else. Sometimes at the expense of ourselves.’
