The flirting is over on The Voice as Kylie drops The Streets vocalist Leo after she and Sir Tom chop their selections down to three

It was the week of knockouts of The Voice with Team Kylie and Team Tom (that's Sir Tom Jones, of course) having to chop their teams back from seven a piece to three.
Kylie, who called herself 'mother hen', was the first to make her knockout decision. The first place on her team went to Lee, followed by Jamie and then Rachael, with the shock being that Leo, who has been on the receiving end of plenty of flirting from the Aussie pop princess, was sent home packing.
Tom chose Sally first of all, who had brought tears to the audience, then Adele's cousin Georgia and his final selection was soul singer Bizzi

The first knockout round on The Voice this week was from Team Kylie.
'I think I've got a dynamic team and different styles - I feel great about Team Kylie,' the Aussie pop diva revealed. 'I really want you all to be your self. The difference now between battles and knockouts is song choice.'
'I have butterflies,' she continued. 'I am super excited but nervous too, I have to say,' she said. Her last words of advice, after weeks of flirtation between the two, were 'one thing is be yourself and give it all you've got and let me get to know you a little bit better in this performance and everyone at home.'
The Streets' Leo was the first contestant to take to the stage who decided to tackle the big hair ballad I Want To Know What Love Is originally sung by Foreigner 80s rock merchants.

After Leo's performance, will.i.am put his thumb up and said to him 'You did good'.
Next up was tattoo-covered Jai who sang Take Your Mama Out from Scissor Sisters.
With plenty of sass and her quirky one-of-a-kind voice it was a good song choice for the mother-of-one.

Kylie was thrusting her fists in the air during the performance, while Sir Tom Jones nodded along smiling as Jai owned the stage strutting around.
Third from Team Kylie was Jade who Kylie described as a 'sexy sex bomb'. She chose to sing Ella Fitzgerald's version of Blue Moon.
'This is my opportunity to show Kylie I am not just a one trick pony and I can do the jazzy,' Jade explained. 'I know I have to go out there and give it my absolute everything.'
Dressed appropriately in a blue pantsuit. Ricky WIlson and Sir Tom looked on enthusiastically.

Fourth up was cherub-faced Lee who had originally sang a version of Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Head for his original performance. This time round, he chose George Michael's classic Careless Whisper.
Taking a different stab at the hit and turning it into an indie dirge, Lee really seemed in his element as the chorus soared and swelled around him.

He was followed by Femi who said that working on The Voice was 'a dream'.
His song choice was The Mama & The Papas' California Dreaming.
'I forgot I was working' Kylie said during rehearsals. 'I was just part of the Femi fan club.'
Like his predecessor he put an almost indie spin on the classic 60s pop song, with Kylie dancing along in her seat during the performance, while will clapped along and the audience screamed as he turned the song into a heated soul performance.

After Femi, it was time for the penultimate performer from Team Kylie was gorgeous Rachael from a small village in Northern Ireland.
'She is my sweet 16,' Kylie explained.
Rachael chose to sing Paloma Faith's somewhat under-appreciated New York hit from a few years back. Singing her heart out, Rachael grabbed the song and gave it her all during her performance, proving she could tackle ballads successfully too.
'She's a ready made pop star,' Ricky remarked afterwards.

Last up for Team Kylie was handsome ever-smiling Jamie.
'He is such a nice guy,' Kylie said of Jamie who chose Kings of Leon's Sex on Fire as his performance piece.
'I've got to smash it and show the audience what I've got,' Jamie said before unleashing into a raunchy rocking version of Sex On Fire.

After Team Kylie's magnificent seven sang their hearts out, Kylie said 'there is no way of choosing three people and everyone being happy.'
After the other judges tried to 'pick lobsters in a restaurant', as Ricky put it, and help Kylie out with some choices. it seemed that they favoured the male singers over the female ones.

It was then time for Team Tom's knockouts.
'I've told everyone it depends what happens tonight - bring it and give it the best you can,' was his advice to his team.
First up was Celestine who chose Randy Crawford's classic 80s pop/soul hit You Might Need Somebody.

Following her was Melissa with her bright pink hair with Tom giving her a real nod of acknowledgement.
'She's got a unique stule and a real similarity with Amy Winehouse,' Tom explained.
Melissa decided to give her take on the 80s classic I Love Rock'n'Roll from Joan Jett & The Blackhearts turning it into a sexy country hoe-down.

Third up was Gary who Kylie whispered 'is going to blow us all away'. He chose to sing George Michael's 'Freedom 90' which Robbie Williams also covered as his very first solo single.
Looking suave in his suit, Gary sang his heart out but also was restrained when it mattered too.
Tom was on his feet at the end of the performance.

Fourth from Tom's team to take the stage was soul singer Bizzi.
He decided to tackle Leo Sayer's 70s ballad When I Need You with Tom advising him not to do any 'oobly-oobly' - which meant to stick to his jazz roots and not go too far off them.
Tom said that you 'made me dizzy, Bizzi.

Next into the knockouts was Georgia, the distant cousin of Adele.
She decided to sing Three Little Birds from Bob Marley which she pointed out was going to be her wedding song too when she finally gets married to her fiance later this year.
Proving that talent runs in the family, Georgia put a bright sparkly spin on the reggae tune proving that she could turn a classic into something of her own making.

After that star turn it was Steven who took on Mika's quirky Grace Kelly hit.
'It's not an easy song to sing,' Tom noted.
Steven worked the stage and worked the song even giving life to some of the hard falsetto notes during the chorus which made it such a signature song for Mika.
Tom was duly impressed and on his feet again, as were the audience for the bravura performance.

Last up for team Tom was Sally, the experienced singer who has opened for Bob Dylan and a lot of big name folk singers.
'This girl is only just starting as far as I'm concerned,' Tom revealed.
Sally decided to do a minimalist version of the 60s classic Walk On By which was originally a hit for Dionne Warwick and written by the classic songwriting team of Bacharach/David.
Making her performance a true showstopper, Sally seemed be the true find of the series with even Sir Tom having to hold back the tears during her performance.

When it came time for Tom to choose his final three he went with Sally first of all, who had brought tears to the audience, as well as to the judges.
Then it was Georgia who went through as she excitedly hugged Tom. 'I feel honoured,' she exclaimed.
The final of Tom's final three to go through was Bizzi.

Tomorrow night it is Team Ricky and Team Will who will have to chop their contestant numbers back from seven to three a piece.
They'll have a heard act to follow after the quality of the acts that Team Kylie and Team Tom uncovered
The Voice continues on BBC One at 7:25pm on Sunday night.
