'I worked hard to be in that movie!' Zendaya confirms role in Spider-Man as she reveals her auditioning process on The Ellen DeGeneres Show
She might be a star on the stage but Zendaya is an unproven talent as an actress.
The 19-year-old revealed, while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, that she had to audition multiple times to be in the next Spider-Man movie.
And while Zendaya was able to confirm her participation in the film she did not want to discuss details about the highly secretive process beyond the work she put in to finally be cast.

'I can't say anything else other than I'm going to be in it,' she said confirming her role in the reboot..
'It's very exciting,' she gushed before discussing her foray into a film.
'When it comes to the acting space, I'm basically unknown. I've never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else,' she explained.

'I auditioned and auditioned and auditioned and [broke] down those walls because a lot of people do have that pre-conceived notion of who I am based off previous things I've done, so you got to really break that down and go hard, put in the work, take all the meetings, take all the auditions.'
Tom Holland plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming film, a role previously played by both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
The new movie will be directed by Jon Watts of Cop Car fame.

Holland, 19, will also appear in Captain America: Civil War which will come out in May.
Zendaya - who was born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman - has been on the Disney Channel series Shake It Up! with Bella Thorne for years. The Oakland, California, native has also been in KC Undercover and Zapped.
In 2009 she competed on Dancing With The Stars.
