The 18-year-old told Marie Claire that while she filmed Carrie in 2013 she became obsessed with reading online criticism.
'I felt fat; I felt not pretty. I felt like I didn't really know who I was. I was so confused; I was scared. I had bad acne. I felt incredibly insecure.'
But recently, Chloe says she has been able to put that behind her and separate her at work self and at home self.
'I'm so free now. I don't know what happened, but when I turned 17, this huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. I'm so open; I have a good time; I don't worry about what people say about me.
Getting there: Chloe revealed to Marie Claire she struggled previously with body confidence but 'when I turned 17, this huge weight was lifted off my shoulders' and so now is putting that behind her
'I know who I am, who I want to be, what I want to portray myself as, what I want people to think of me.'
Chloe is set to have a very busy year with four films coming out including the 5th Wave, Neighbors 2, November Criminals and Brain On Fire.
Chloe will also star in the anticipated live-action Little Mermaid which was to be directed by Sofia Coppola, however, she recently dropped the project amid reports of creative differences.
