Nadiya Hussain fuels rumours she’s to replace Mary Berry as chief judge on Great British Bake Off alongside Paul Hollywood
Could Nadiya Hussain rise like a perfect soufflé to the challenge of judging the Great British Bake Off?
New reports suggest she might – with whispers of secret ‘talks with Channel 4’ to fill the low heel shoes (and floral blouses, perhaps?) of Mary Berry who quit the show last week.
Mild mannered and charismatic Nadiya, 31 – who won 2015’s series – is the hot favourite to join Paul Hollywood to scrutinise soggy bottoms and all the other never-tiring innuendo filled baking endeavors of contestants when the hit BBC show jumps to the rival television station next year.
Wow busy day! Just catching up with everything. Love Mary and Paul and I'm sure they've each made the right decision for them.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Nadiya added fuel to the fire surrounding rumours she could be lined up to replace Mary, 81, when she commented that the judges had ‘each made the right decision for them’ (and for her, presumably, if she is in talks to star in the next series).
Earlier reports already tagged her as a possible returning star once the show is on Channel 4 but she had remained silent on social media until now.
Paul, 50, is the only member of the Bake Off line up to remain with the show that made him a household name.
As well as Mary throwing in the baking gloves last week, presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins revealed they will not transfer with the show – much to the sadness and fury of devout Bake Off fans across the nation.
