Making the cut: Jennifer Lawrence debuts edgy new look at the GLAAD Media Awards with shorter and lighter locks

She's maintained a low profile since awards season.
But after months of staying under the red carpet radar, Jennifer Lawrence poked back into the public eye at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, California on Saturday.
And the 22-year-old actress picked the perfect place to show off her fresh spring-inspired look.

Lawrence traded in her long locks for a relaxed bob, resting above her shoulders.
Framing her face, she added some side-swept bangs as her fringe was styled in loose curls.
The Silver Linings Playbook star had also transformed her ombre tresses into a lighter shade, adding some honey-coloured highlights that warmed up her complexion.

Lawrence has recently been seen with dark brunette locks as she films the sequel to The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, portraying the role of Katniss Everdeen, just as she did for her part in Silver Linings Playbook.
And she's kept her personal style under wraps as she filmed Serena alongside her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper, maintaining a retro updo for the duration of the shoots.
But the natural blonde's updated 'do finally lets her personality sparkle, fitting in with her fun and flirty vibe.
Jennifer's makeup was a change from what she's typically spotted in as well, opting for a smokey eye and nude lip to go with her black cocktail dress.

The GLAAD Media Awards is the largest, most visible LGBT gala in the nation, celebrating the most outstanding LGBT images in the media.
Through news, entertainment and social media, GLAAD has been used as a tool to bring culture-changing stories of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people into millions of homes and workplaces every day in hope of growing a LGBT community of acceptance and equality.
The event was hosted by He's Just Not That Into You star Drew Barrymore and the star-studded roster included other celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Kirsten Dunst, and Ashley Benson.
