Are you really going out in THAT? Kendall Jenner dons tiny bandeau dress and stonking heels for night out with her father

Standing there together they embody the gulf between the young and (ever so slightly) older generations.

Olympian Bruce Jenner, 63, is wearing a suitable uniform (if not face) for his age in the form of neat jeans and sweater with glasses hooked onto the neck.

Meanwhile his 17-year-old daughter Kendall is showing off a mature beyond her years black bandeau dress with a vertiginous pair of wedge heels.

To say the pairing is a tad incongruous would be an understatement but similar father and daughter duos are seen all the over the world.

Not many of these aforementioned daughters are likely to be dragging their patriarch around pictures of themselves at a trendy gallery party in West Hollywood, however.

Kendall is - of course - not one of the many and as part of the extended Kardashian dynasty, is already finding her name up in lights and her face everywhere.

This time though, at least the representation is a bit more fantastical as artist Guy Hepner's exhibition has captured the teenager in a fittingly storybook style.

Kendall features in the Nomad Two Worlds exhibit.

She's already had a sneak preview when she visited the L.A. gallery with her mother, Kris Jenner.

But the Bruce got the nod for the big launch with Kris away in New York and later treated his daughter to dinner at The Ivy in Beverly Hills.

The mysterious black-and-white setting also shows a bird flying above Kendall as two others sit behind her and one resting on her fingertips.

Kris Jenner joined her daughter for the art appreciation outing, tweeting 'Sneak peek with @KendallJenner of the amazing @nomadrj exhibit at @guyhepner in LA!' along with a snapshot of the two smiling in front of another photo.

The momager was certainly proud of her daughter, snapping pictures of the artwork throughout their gallery visit, which was also being filmed for an episode of their reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Kendall was pleased too, instagramming her favourite photo with the caption: 'seriously, some incredible work I saw today in @nomadjr's exhibit at @guyhepner in LA! #dasmee (sic).'
