It's handled! Scandal star Kerry Washington wows as she flashes cleavage in a deeply plunging purple gown at the GLAAD Awards
While she's often been lauded for her sartorial selections, Kerry Washington truly shone among a host of stars when she stepped out to attend the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday.
The Scandal star - whose screen character Olivia Pope has also been enthusiastically embraced as a style icon - wowed as she arrived at the Beverly Hills, California, event in a plunging purple gown.
Kerry, 38, showed off her cleavage in the daring backless dress, which featured a scarlet deep V-neck bodice, complementing her purple, floor-length skirt.

The screen beauty, who was honoured with GLAAD's Vanguard Award for her work in promoting equality, accessorised with a gold clutch bag and a pair of glittering hoop earrings.
Wearing her jet-black, shoulder-length hair in soft curls with a centre parting, the mother-of-one gave her lips a splash of colour, adding a deep pink gloss to her make-up palette.

Also turning heads at the event was fellow actress Zoe Saldana, who looked ravishing in red, although she went for a more conservative gown.
The new mother - who gave birth to twin boys in November - covered up from neck to knee with a tight over-dress and a loose skirt.
Most recently seen as Gamora in 2014's hit Guardians Of The Galaxy, Zoe finished off her outfit with bright red pumps.

A wide variety of celebrities joined the two actresses on the carpet, all dressed in their finest.
Looking stylish in black were actors Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, there so that Channing could present director Nolan Emmerich with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.
While Channing stayed basic in a solid black suit with white shirt and grey-blue tie, Jenna was a little fancier in a beaded mini-dress.

One of the most famous couples to walk the red carpet was made up of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
Ellen wore a simply tailored olive-green suit with a blue shirt, but Portia went for greater glamour with a high-necked dress of mesh and black fabric.
With Kerry getting a big award for her television work, plenty other representatives from Shondaland TV shows attended the event.

Most notably, this included Shonda Rhimes herself, who looked her best in a satin blue dress adorned with horizontal white lines.
One of Shonda's shows, How To Get Away With Murder, had plenty of actors walking the GLAAD red carpet, including the program's acclaimed star, Viola Davis, who looked gorgeous in a white, V-neck dress.
Her younger co-stars Aja Naomi King and Matt McGorry were equally stunning in a grey dress with a dramatic neck and a fitted black suit, respectively.

Hosted by Grammy-nominated Tig Notaro, the GLAAD Awards honour media that include lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual community issues.
