She’s yet to experience motherhood, but Selena Gomez looked like a natural as she prepared to shoot scenes on the Georgia set of her new film, In Dubious Battle.
Dressed in period costume, the 22-year-old actress cradled a baby to her chest while awaiting director James Franco’ instruction ahead of a rural scene on the forthcoming drama – an adaptation of the 1936 novel by John Steinbeck.
Selena appeared rather taken with the tot as she mingled with co-star Josh Hutcherson before taking centre stage amongst an ensemble cast of extras dressed as farm workers.

But if she looked like an expert as she cradled the baby, it was with good reason – the actress had previously been given a lifelike doll with which to practice shortly after arriving on set.
Making sure not to fall as she made her way around the uneven field upon which they filmed, Selena rehearsed with the doll for close to two hours before being trusted with the real thing.
The actress, who takes the role of young mother Lisa in the film, later caught the eye of visiting producers Andrea iervolino and Monika Bacardi - both of whom crowded round to get a glimpse of the baby.
Their latest venture, set during the Great Depression, tells the story of an activist who gets caught up in a labour movement with Californian farm workers.

Selena was previously spotted looking exhausted on the set of her latest film In Dubious Battle in Atlanta, Georgia.
The actress joined her A-list cast for another day of production of the James Franco-directed period piece but took time out of her busy shooting schedule to show off her glamorous side with a throwback photo on her Instagram page.
She was dressed in less than enchanting 1930s style garb including a tattered cardigan and soiled floral frock.
The multihypenate entertainer sported a disheveled hairstyle with her long brunette tresses loosely gathered in a low ponytail.

Selena did her best to appear as the hard-working woman by showing her Selenator fans her glamorous side on social media also on Friday.
The ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber shared a snap of herself from a prior photo shoot displaying a cleavage baring ensemble while looking seductive on a sandy beach.
With full makeup and hair treatment no doubt completed by a glam squad, the pop star was all dolled up for the photo spread.
However tired Selena was on set in Atlanta, she could not have been in better company.
The BFF of Taylor Swift was accompanied by the film's director James Franco along with the star-studded ensemble: Josh Hutcherson, Robert Duvall, Ashley Greene, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ahna O'Reilly, and Analeigh Tipton among others.

In addition, it was revealed that the ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber gave some helpful advice and ideas to comedian Jeff Ross for him to use at recent Bieber's Comedy Central Roast.
Selena - who is rumoured to be dating I Want You To Know collaborator Zedd - appeared to be weary at her workplace.
Although her barefaced complexion and raggedy clothing could have just been elements of her character's look.

Most recently, Selena just finished filming The Revised Fundamentals Of Caregiving in the same Georgia capital with actor Paul Rudd.
In addition to her dramatic movies, the star is anticipating the September 25 release of the animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 2 in which she reprises her voiceover role of Mavis.
Music wise, her EDM single I Want You To Know with alleged beau Zedd continues to stay on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
