Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale poses for sultry style shoot as she admits that breaking into the music industry is 'a lot more difficult' than she predicted
Lucy Hale may have started her career by winning a singing competition, but the actress has revealed that being involved in the music industry is far more challenging than portraying Aria Montgomery on ABC Family's hit series Pretty Little Liars.
The 25-year-old brunette beauty, who modeled her sleek new bob in a sultry spread for Yahoo Style, told the outlet that singing was her true passion, adding that she turned to acting only two years after winning talent competition American Juniors in 2003 at the age of 14 because her band broke up.
'The music industry is a lot more difficult than what I'm used to,' she said. 'But I've always come to it with my love and passion for it, as opposed to: "I need to make more money."'

She continued: 'At the end of the day, if people love what they're doing, everything else will come. Like I do with everything, I just follow my heart, and everything else will fall into place.'
Lucy, who released her debut album Road Between last June, is dedicated to becoming the country start she dreamed of being while growing up in Memphis, Tennessee.
She added that she has wanted to be a singer all of her life.
While music may be her first love, there is no denying the fact that Lucy is a breakout TV star.

'Literally, the two things I hear the most are: "Oh my God, you're so much shorter in person" and the classic: "Can you tell me who A is?''' she said of the mysterious character on Pretty Little Liars, which is in its fifth season.
She noted that it will be nice to finally have an answer to that question after the show's seventh and final season.
And while the actress was full of praise for the show, which has sky-rocketed her to international stardom, she admitted that her hectic work schedule has made it difficult to settle down and date someone.
Lucy, who is rumored to be dating Lawson drummer Adam Pitts, said the entire process of seeing someone is 'kind of weird' for everyone, explaining that it is difficult to meet people when you are busy.

Declining the chance to comment on her alleged relationship with Adam, she did note that she hasn't been 'seeking anything' in her own life.
'I believe the right people come into your life when they're supposed to,' she added.
Lucy happily shared some of the snaps from her Yahoo Style photoshoot yesterday on Instagram, and she couldn’t stop gushing about photographer Damon Baker.
After thanking the outlet for the ‘fun shoot’, she shared another picture from the spread in order to praise Damon.
‘Sorry to post again about this but my love @damon_baker killed this shoot for @yahoostyle... you always make me feel so comfortable and play good music,’ she wrote.

Damon also shared a snap from the shoot on his Instagram account, writing: 'I could photograph @lucyhale every day and constantly be amazed by her talent and beauty.
'Thank you @YahooStyle for allowing us to create for you.'
