Oh, what a beautiful morning! Vanessa Hudgens looks stunning as she leaves her NY apartment in full make-up on sunny day

It's been cold and snowy in New York for weeks.

But the sun finally came out on Tuesday and Vanessa Hudgens added her own radiance to the day as she left her apartment in the city's SoHo neighbourhood looking gorgeous in full make-up.

The 26-year-old, who recently had her long brunette tresses cut into a blunt bob, emphasised her eyes with smokey shadow, black liner and lashings of mascara.

Her cheek bones were expertly shaded and she wore bright red lipstick.

The former High School Musical star looked chic in a white boucle jacket that fell just below her hips, over a black dress.

She wrapped a scarf around her neck in shades of black, beige and white that matched the colours of her snakeskin, platform slingback shoes that had perilously high heels.

Vanessa accessorised with a large, white leather handbag that contained a small laptop and kept an eye on her cell phone as she walked along.

There was no sign of her beau of three years, Austin Butler, who starred in the recently cancelled The Carrie Diaries.

Vanessa recently snatched some time for a break in New Zealand before starting rehearsals for her upcoming role in Gigi on Broadway.

She plays the title role of a courtesan-in-training, alongside co-stars Victoria Clark as her grandmother Mamita and Corey Cott as her love interest, Gaston Lachaille.

Audrey Hepburn played the role on stage and screen and Vanessa recently admitted: 'I have some big shoes to fill.'

Speaking about her big gig, Vanessa told Good Morning America: 'I have butterflies.'

Gigi will premiere on April 8 in the Neil Simon Theatre.

Meanwhile, Vanessa will also soon be seen on TV playing Rizzo in a reboot of Grease that Fox will air live, following in the footsteps of NBC's Sound Of Music remake in December 2013 and Peter Pan Live! in December 2014.
