Janet Jackson hits the road for first time in four years as she announces 36-date world tour in support of new album Unbreakable
Janet Jackson probably caused scores of excited palpitations when she revealed she was recording in the studio again.
The 49-year-old hitmaker got hearts beating faster on Monday when she announced she will kick off a world tour this summer in support of Unbreakable, her first album in seven years.
Janet is set to perform 36 dates in 32 cities, beginning on August 31 in Vancouver, Canada with her first US show slated for September 11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Unbreakable World Tour will continue on through November 12, it's final show in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Janet's fans shouldn't be disappointed - the Rhythm Nation singer can always be counted on to put on a sizzling and eye-catching act.
The performer is already staging auditions for her tour, and posted a video on her Twitter page attesting to that fact on June 15.

The clip shows a large group of leotard and sweat shirt-clad dancers putting in the practice at CenterStaging Studio 11 in Burbank, California.
'Auditioning for Janet feels like a dream fantasy,' one hopeful dancer says in voiceover.
Janet caused a stir when she announced plans to record a new album and go on tour late last month.
She whet appetites by posting a video teaser online, saying: 'I promised you'd hear it from my lips and now you will. This year: new music; new world tour; a new movement. I've been listening. Let's keep the conversation going.'

On May 28, she was spotted heading to a recording studio in Los Angeles dressed head-to-toe in comfy black track outfit and black cap.
'You will always know it is true when you hear it from my lips...,' Janet promised via Twitter on June 3.

Janet last toured for her 2011 Number Ones greatest hits album.
Janet's forthcoming album Unbreakable will be released this fall with the pop star reportedly assuming total creative control since the dismal sales of her last studio album Discipline in 2008.
Her roster of hits dates back to the mid-1980s, ranging from What Have You Done for Me Lately to That's The Way Love Goes to All For You.
