A helping hand is usually appreciated—except when said hand belongs to a walking, talking, and possibly thinking robot.
At least, that’s how Laura (Katherine Parkinson) feels in this exclusive clip from Humans, AMC’s new sci-fi drama about a world where robots called “Synths” have become sought-after gadgets and become integrated into society. Not everyone’s a fan of these mechanical servants, though; when Anita (Gemma Chan) greets Laura, the final member of the family that bought her, she receives a cold glance in return. And that tension, if the scene right after is any indication, will only make things more difficult for both Anita and her surrounding, well, humans.
Humans premieres June 28 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
