It was a day of three totally different looks for Jessica Alba as she went out and about in New York City's Soho district.

The most eye-catching of Tuesday's trio was a gossamer light dress with large blue, black and white pineapples on a purple background.

The frock featured a plunging neckline and was low-cut around the arms giving a glimpse of side boob.

It was fairly obvious the 34-year-old actress and Honest Company entrepreneur had opted to leave her bra at home to keep cool on a day when temperatures in the city hit a muggy 88F.

However when she ventured out later in the day with daughters Honor, seven, and three-year-old Haven, in matching peach chiffon dresses, it was raining.

Jessica and Honor carried matching clear umbrellas featuring a cherry print, while Haven held on to her mother's hand.

The beautiful brunette teamed her dress with black, Birkenstock-style slides and threw a black leather bag over her shoulder.

Jesssica changed into a stylish, figure-hugging, knee-length white dress with a square neck and cap sleeves for a meeting about her Honest Company, valued at $1 billion by Forbes magazine earlier this month.

The Sin City star teamed it with silver, high-heel sandals and a matching silver bag.

And she posted an Instagram snap of herself in an office building standing next to a colourful sculpture, captioned: 'Peeped this cool piece of art at @honest biz meeting today #NYC -in @narciso_rodriguez #jimmychoo #barbarabui.'

The message gave a shoutout to 54-year-old designer Narciso Rodriguez and high-end shoe company Jimmy Choo.

Jessica wore her third and least glamorous outfit to take out her daughters, seven-year-old Honor and Haven, three.

The Sin City star donned a long, black, baggy wrap dress and her black slides as she pushed Haven in a stroller while Honor held on to the handle.

The girls were more colourfully dressed than their mum with both in pink and white-striped dresses and silver sandals and blue bows in their hair.

Missing from the day's activities was Jessica's 36-year-old producer husband of eight years, Cash Warren.

Meanwhile, the actress also recently completed filming on her next movie, Mechanic: Resurrection, co-starring Jason Statham, which is expected to premiere next January.
