Having completed a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the Nottingham Trent University, Melissa immediately got a job in radio at Kiss 105-108 in the East of England, reading the weekend breakfast news and contributing to the show. She went on to cover news on weekday breakfast and drivetime shows, as well as occasionally helping to co-host during the breakfast show.
With a love for Formula One racing, Melissa went on to become one of the faces of McLaren F1 Team’s female merchandising campaign 2010 & 2011, alongside the team’s drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.
In 2011, Melissa was crowned Miss Mauritius GB 2011-12 and still holds the title.
Currently, Melissa works at ITN Productions as a freelance news and entertainment journalist, reporting from red carpet premieres and award shows, as well as interviewing celebrities on a one-to-one basis. She can sometimes be seen presenting the showbiz update, FYI Daily, on ITV 2, 3 & 4. She also presents weekly news bulletins for Espresso Education, which go out to over 2 million primary school children in the UK each week.
