Proving to a seasoned vet when it comes to taking to the spotlight, Cate Blanchett looked incredible on Saturday evening at the BAFTA Nominees Party.
Held at Kensington Palace in London, the 46-year-old cut a striking figure in a contrast gown as she showed off her edgy side.

With all eyes on her, Cate modelled an all black creation by Chanel which looked divine set against her porcelain complexion.
A cut above the rest, Blanchett's gown featured a V-neck long sleeved leather bodice and and a checked laser cut full circle skirt.
Styling blonde tresses in an elegant updo, the mother-of-four added colour to her ensemble with pastel pink lipstick as she stood tall in patent stilettos.

Academy Award winner Blanchett earned another huge coup for her performance in lesbian romance drama Carol with a nomination in the hotly-contested Best Actress category.
On Sunday, the Australian actress will go up against Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl), Brie Larson (Room), Dame Maggie Smith (The Lady In The Van) and Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) for the trophy.
While Rooney Mara's portrayal as Therese Belivet sees her in the Best Supporting Actress field.

In total Carol is up for nine awards, including nods for Best Film, Director for Todd Haynes, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair.
The Haynes directed film tells the tale of a 1950s housewife who embarks on an affair with a young woman in her twenties.
Sarah Paulson, Kyle Chandler, Jake Lacy, Cory Michael Smith, John Magaro and Carrie Brownstein also star in the critically-acclaimed motion picture.
