So it's no wonder an X-Men: Apocalypse trailer released during a Super Bowl commercial on Sunday hinted at that outcome.
The 25-year-old actress appeared on the teaser in her famous Mystique blue paint while being choked by the film's all-powerful enemy.

This will be the ninth installment of the highly-popular series of films adapted from the Marvel comic book of the same name.
X-Men: Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, hits cinemas in the UK on 19 May with a release in the US following during Memorial Day Weekend on 27 May.
