Lucy Beale's killer will (finally) be unmasked in live flashback episode of EastEnders as soap prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary

Lucy Beale's murderer will be revealed in a special flashback episode of EastEnders.
The blonde beauty, played by actress Hetti Bywater, was brutally murdered last year and her killer is set to be unveiled during the BBC One soap's 30th anniversary week of live episodes in February.
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: 'When we first created the Who Killed Lucy Beale storyline, we knew that we had to flash back to the night that she died on screen.

'So much happened on Good Friday 2014 after viewers saw Lucy leave her home and walk off into the night - and this flashback episode will fill in the pieces for the rest of that night, before she was killed.'
The episode will also see the return of former cast members - including Hetti, Jake Stone, played by Jamie Lomas and Tanya Franks, played by Rainie Cross - as viewers are presented with new twists in old storylines and secrets from the past year.
Hetti said of reprising the role of Lucy: 'It's great to be part of the conclusion and find out what really happened the night Lucy Beale died...'

Jamie also commented on being involved in the flashback episode, saying: 'It was always part of the plan between Dominic and myself that I would come back for this special episode that will fill the blanks in for the viewers.'
Meanwhile, Tanya - who plays prostitute Rainie in the popular drama - has teased viewers about whether or not Lucy's father Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, was really with her on the night of his daughter's death.
She shared: 'It's fab to be back celebrating the 30th anniversary of EastEnders. Where have the last three decades gone?! So, if you want to find out if Rainie was really with Ian Beale on the night Lucy Beale died, then all will be revealed!'

On Saturday Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning on the soap, thought he'd tease viewers with a fake spoiler while attending the PDC World Darts Championship.
As cameras zoomed in on him sitting in the audience at London's Alexandra Palace, the 42-year-old actor cheekily held up at handwritten sign that read: 'I killed Lucy!!'
The former Strictly Come Dancing competitor's daring moment sparked a huge reaction on social media, with many fans wondering if he had, indeed, spilled details on the show's big story.
However, he soon took to his Twitter account to retweet comments that supported the idea that he was just pranking the audience.
