Yet Lily James has proved it is not all fancy frocks and prudish petty coats as she posed for a suggestive new shoot for Town And Country magazine.
The 26-year-old stunner looked sensational in the shoot which saw her strip off and glance over her shoulder in an incredibly sexy manner.

Lily, who is best known for her role as Lady Rose Aldridge in Downton Abbey, was showing off her darker locks - a look her fans are not used to.
The Cinderella actress, who is dating Doctor Who star Matt Smith, smouldered in the sexy image which saw her eyes outlined in bronze and golden hues to afford her look a natural yet glamorous feel.Her alabaster skin looked flawless and untouched as she gazed into the camera with a gorgeous intense stare.
In another snap Lily poses in a chic slip like gown, with one strap tumbling off her shoulder as her wild brown curls bounced around.

Saving the raunchier snaps for the inside of the magazine, Lily looked prudish on the front of the magazine in a ruffled Victoriana style blouse.
Her unkempt hair and minimal make-up provided the shoot with a laid-back but tousled bed-mussed feel.
Lily spoke candidly in the accompanying interview, as she opened up about her boyfriend's nude picture scandal in 2014.
Many Hollywood stars had phones hacked, when nude images leaking on to the internet, including those of her boyfriend Matt and his ex-girlfriend Daisy Lowe.
She said: 'It was terrifying and so unfair. It makes you conscious of not doing… You shouldn’t have to censor yourself in that way. I’ve begun to think like this, and it’s really sad.'
On the subject of women and feminism, the stunning star said: 'I realized really early on, especially because I’m young, that people will take advantage.
'I’m very open, and I stupidly thought that people would be open and fair with me, but they’re not. I sort of found out the hard way. Of course [I’m a feminist]. I don’t even understand that question.'
Lily also discussed how her young fans react to her after she starred in Cinderella: 'I didn’t want to break the illusion. I sort of wanted to pretend that I was Ella.
'They asked, "Where are your sisters? Is the magic real?" Of course it’s real! Courage and kindness, courage and kindness.'
