Forget Connery, Craig and Lazenby (especially Lazenby), there is only one true star of James Bond: the car.
Ever since the spy first drove his gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5 in Goldfinger, Bond has been a frequent customer of the British car makers. It’s no surprise that he will be bombing around in the latest model in Spectre.
Aston Martin and the filmmakers worked together on the design of the DB10. Speaking at the Spectre announcement today, director Sam Mendes said: “It's a thing of beauty, and you'll be able to see what it can do."
So, expect gadgets.
The car is believed to give some clues about Aston Martin’s future designs, but only ten DB10s will ever be made. Do try to look after it 007. You have a licence to kill, not break the traffic laws.
Asked by the BBC what attracted him to the film, Christoph Waltz said: “The car. Absolutely. This car is incredible. I just caught a glimpse of it and I want to drive it. “
