Vanessa Hudgens is known for her love of hippie-inspired clothing but on Friday night she turned to a whole new decade for inspiration as she headed out in New York.
The 26-year-old embraced her inner 1950s Hawaiian surfer girl as she celebrated her cover of Social Life magazine.

The High School Musical star stepped out in a retro two piece featuring a strapless midriff bearing top and a high waisted pencil skirt.
The maroon two piece ensemble featured a 1950s rodeo print that added to her pin-up vibe.
Not done there, during the celebration of her cover story the now Broadway star donned a flower crown that made her look as though she had just fallen out of movie classic, Elvis' Blue Hawaii.

The star did break from her retro vibe slightly by further accessorising her look with the must have shoes of the moment - a pair strappy simple heels, namely Saint Laurent Jane sandals.
For the party, the brunette wore her hair in soft curls which further gave her a ready for the luau look.
As she headed to the event on foot, Vanessa made sure to stop and chat to fans.

The 26-year-old will perform her last Broadway show on Sunday after ticket sales were reportedly lower than they were hoping for.
