Are those shoes really suitable? Paloma Faith celebrates her birthday by running with the Olympic torch in skyhigh red heels

As the Olympics get closer more and more people are being spotted carrying the iconic torch as it continues its journey across the country.
While the likes of Zara Phillips and Will.i.am have already been spotted carrying the flame through various locations, today it was singer Paloma Faith's turn.
And it served as a special birthday treat for the star, as she turns 26 today.

In her true quirky style, Paloma decided to run her stint in some completely unsuitable attire.
Not only did she run along in skyhigh patent red heels, she also customised her white tracksuit to make it more 'her own'.
The singer wrote on Twitter this morning: 'Thank you all for your birthday wishes today! I'm going to carry the Olympic torch today. Biggest candle I've ever blown out!'

How can she run? It was an odd choice of outfit to make considering it was for a sporting cause and she knew she'd have to run the stretch this morning
One way to mark a birthday! Faith took to Twitter to share her excitement at spending her 26th birthday carrying the Olympic torch
But she looked slightly ridiculous compared to the other stars and members of the public who have had their turn with the flame, usually in trainers.
And although she only had to run 300 yards, like each torchbearer has to, it seemed inappropriate seem as it was for the athletics extravaganza.
Birthday treat: She joked on Twitter that it was the 'largest candle' she's had to blow out to date
Honoured: The singer looked proud as she wore her sunglasses and kept her hair piled into an up do
Swapping over: Paloma then passed the flame to Sheikh Sheikh, who was set to then take the torch for the next 300 yards
Paloma, who hails from east London borough Hackney, carried the torch through the city's Newham as she tottered on the stilettos.
She wore her hair high on her head and rolled up her tracksuit bottoms to her knees.
She did it! Even though she looked ridiculous, Paloma managed to pick up her pace for her running stint today

Poser: The chart maker seemed to enjoy wearing the outfit as she shared a picture before setting off
And she even took to Twitter to share her own photos of the special event taking place, including one of her running and posing before the start.
Faith then posed with her sunglasses on as she passed the flame to wheelchair-bound Sheikh Sheikh, who smiled as he then took charge of the flame.
My turn! Later on in the day rapper Dizzee Rascal took the torch through Tower Hamlets and didn't seem to mind wearing the appropriate clothing
