But not every A-lister feels the need to splash the cash on a £1,000 perfume or a pot of face cream that costs a fortune.

This week, television presenter Fearne Cotton admitted she loves Simple's Kind To Eyes make-up remover, costing a purse-friendly £3.99.

Kylie Minogue, meanwhile, credits Ponds' £4.49 cold cream with keeping wrinkles at bay.

Tesco's home brand olive oil costs a mere £1.98 (tesco.com) and is packed with skin nourishing antioxidants such as vitamins A and E as well as rich emollients that soften tough skin.

Add a little lemon juice to deal with skin discolouration and to give your skin an additional shot of vitamin C.

KYLIE MINOGUE'S CUT-PRICE COLD CREAM

Pond's Cold Cream, £4.49 (boots.com), is an old-fashioned beauty treat that's still topping the sales charts thanks to its legion of celebrity fans.

Among them is singer, Kylie Minogue, who credits the 100-year-old cream with her skin's youthful glow. 'It's really changed my skin,' she says.
