No laughing matter: Tulisa keeps a straight face as she sweeps into the British Comedy Awards in a metallic mermaid dress
The British Comedy Awards aren't always the most glamorous of events with a guestlist dominated by celebrity men in suits.
So it was up to Tulisa Contostavlos to bring some glitz as she cut a bold figure on the red carpet.
The pop star, 26, looked sleek in a strapless black mermaid gown with gold metal embellishments and a fishnet hem.

She completed her mermaid look with tumbling dark curls and a pair of black heels.
The star-studded event was taking place at the Fountain Studios in West London - a familiar place to Tulisa who spent two years there as a judge on The X Factor, who film their live shows at the venue.
Of course, Tulisa briefly returned to the ITV talent show on Saturday when she stepped in as a guest judge.

While the former N-Dubz singer was looking rather demure, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts showed some skin in a sexy dress.
The American blonde, who is presenting the Best New Comedy Award, showed off her cleavage in a low-cut orange halterneck dress.

Model Daisy Lowe was more demure than usual as she covered up her curves in a black floor-length number.
Also in attendance was ex-EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman, who kept it simple in a black dress.
She posed on the red carpet with her Friday Night Dinner co-star Simon Bird, whose movie The Inbetweeners 2 is up for Best Comedy Film.

Upon the glamorous funny women were The It Crowd's Katherine Parkinson, who was nominated for Best TV Comedy Actress, who looked lovely in a black lacy ensemble.

Also in attendance was Vic Reeves, Harry Enfield, Blake Harrison, Adam Woodyatt and Joey Essex.
The British Comedy Awards are on Channel 4 on Wednesday 17 December at 9pm.
