Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg, 16, shows off her edgy grey hair at Women In Film event
It has been three years since she stole our hearts as sweet Rue in The Hunger Games, but Amandla Stenberg will soon be making a return to the spotlight in upcoming comedy series Mr. Robinson.
And she was already turning heads on Tuesday while attending the Women In Film 2015 Crystal and Lucy Awards in Century City, California.
The 16-year-old, who made headlines last month when she went to prom with Jaden Smith, showed off her edgy grey hair.

For prom, Amandla dyed her dark brown hair grey and wore it in long braids, before chopping it shorter last week. She took out her braids up to her roots ahead of the event on Tuesday.
The actress wore a sparkly black dress to the ceremony, which featured gold detailing on the collar and back, and teamed it with bronze sandals.
Letting her funky hair be the focus of the look, she kept her make-up simple with a little black eyeliner and some glossy red lipstick.

Amandla joined a host of A-listers at the bash, including Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Kristen Stewart.
The rising star took actor Jaden, whose parents are Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, as her date to a high school prom last month, and they posed for photos together which they then shared on Instagram.
While Amandla wore a gold halter-neck cocktail dress, the After Earth star, also 16, sported a white skirt with a long black top over leggings.

Rising star: Amandla is making a return to the spotlight with a role in upcoming comedy series Mr. Robinson
After portraying Katniss's ally Rue in the first Hunger Games, Amandla appeared in the TV show Sleepy Hollow and voiced a character in Rio 2.
Her upcoming series Mr. Robinson, which premieres in August, sees Craig Robinson star as a musician who becomes a music teacher at a middle school in a big city.
Amandla also made headlines earlier this year when she released an intelligent and thought-provoking video discussing the issues of cultural appropriation, posing the question: 'What would America be like if we loved black people as much as we love black culture?'

Long locks: Amandla had dyed her dark brown hair grey and wore it in braids
In the clip, titled Don't Cash Crop My Cornrows, the teen says: 'Appropriation occurs when a style leads to racist generalizations or stereotypes where it originated but is deemed as high-fashion, cool or funny when the privileged take it for themselves.
'Hip hop stems from a black struggle, it stems from jazz and blues, styles of music African-Americans created to retain humanity in the face of adversity. On a smaller scale but in a similar vein, braids and cornrows are not merely stylistic. They’re necessary to keep black hair neat.'
Citing stars such as Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry, she adds: 'Pop stars and icons adopted black culture as a way of being edgy and gaining attention.'
Mixing up her look: The actress is seen here at the NBCUniversal Summer press day in April
