The art of raw seduction: Sultry pictures of Kate Moss, Charlize Theron and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley go on show at new fashion photography exhibition

  • Raw Footage opens at London's Opera Gallery on July 1
  • It features dozens of images from top photographers, including Mario Testino and David Lachapelle
  • The show explores the seductive side of photography and how the medium has changed over the years
A new exhibit, featuring celebrities in a series of striking poses, is set to celebrate the seductive side of photography.
Raw Footage, opening at London's Opera Gallery on July 1, includes racy images of Kate Moss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Charlize Theron and Marilyn Monroe.
The show, which is free to the public, displays the work of some of the world's top photographers - including Mario Testino and David Lachapelle.

Kate Moss is seen throwing an effortlessly smouldering look to camera - despite clutching a cigarette and wearing a men's tie, knitted socks and peep-hole sandals.
The image, shot by Mario Testino at a fish and chip shop in 2005, is just one of many likely to get pulses racing.
Rosie and Charlize appear nude in their black and white portraits, with white bed sheets maintaining their modesty. Meanwhile Marilyn Monroe reclines in bed, revealing inches of bare flesh.
The colour image - which went on to form the iconic With Marilyn: An Evening/1961 photo series - was taken by Douglas Kirkland just a year before the blonde bombshell died.
Other images in the Raw Footage show have an altogether glossier feel. Reflecting the rise of Photoshop, 'perfect' 21st century models appear with flawless skin in front of hyper real backdrops.
On the fashion front, ensembles include everything from fur jackets to silk negligees and sexy stockings - and the artfully-positioned bed sheet is also a popular accessory.
One photograph, shot by Gavin Bond and merely titled 'Legs', shows women from the waist down, wearing tiny pants and leather knee-length laced boots.
A spokesperson for Raw Footage said: 'While historically portraiture was used as a way to record and document our existence, fashion photography and its incorporation of the celebrity have become tools to define our contemporary aesthetic, consumer mentality and collective creativity.
'By presenting a garment or lifestyle as a commercial product, fashion photographers and their collaborators - designers, stylists, models and viewers alike – adopt the highest level of credibility as disseminators of a moment in cultural history.'
Raw Footage runs from July 1 to 18 at the Opera Gallery on New Bond Street, London, and is free to the public.
