Miley Cyrus is known for wearing skimpy outfits.
Yet the cutoffs, if they can be referred to as that, she wore today looked more like a belt than shorts.
During a shopping trip in sunny Los Angeles, the bride-to-be showed off a generous portion of skin as she bent over while perusing the aisles of American Apparel.

The newly-engaged Hannah Montana star seemed to realise later that the hotpants were an inappropriate length as she kept her back covered by a long lumberjack shirt tied at the waist.
Just as Miley entered the trendy clothes store however, she unwrapped the shirt and put it on.
At one point, when she bent over to look at an item, she caused quite a display herself.

To complete the look, Miley paired the shorts with a child size belly-baring cropped white tank - which she appeared to wear without a bra underneath.
Smartly accessorized with a black belt and short black Frye boots, Miley wore her signature long locks in a big bun atop her head.
The singer had been strolling along the street with friends when something in the store caught her eye and she darted in.

The 19-year-old entertainer is engaged to Liam Hemsworth, whom she met on the set of The Last Song in 2009.
She's keeping coy about wedding plans but yesterday tweeted that a friend, Big Black, 'is hookin me upppp. singin @ my wedding for a reasonable $$$ AND putting a fantasy factory in my backyard! Dreams DO come true ;)'
Today she tweeted simply, 'I love being a fiancée.'
