But Woody Allen's jewel in the crown is Spanish through and through, and tonight Madrid's Penelope Cruz was sparkling more than ever.
The 38-year-old beauty looked incredible in a violet lace dress at the New York screening of the celebrated director's latest film.

Making a stunning arrival at the Cinema Society with The Hollywood Reporter & Piaget and Disaronno special screening of her newest film, Cruz hit the red carpet at Casa Lever sporting dark, gothic hues right down to her toes.
There she joined cast mate Greta Gerwig and the film’s director Woody Allen, who appears in the film as an actor... his first role since 2006.
The film has already had a critical mauling, but Cruz enjoyed working with Allen, 76 , who arrived with his wife, Soon-Yi Previn, 41.

Cruz said recently: 'I would love to work with him 20 times. I'm fascinated by his personality. Even a day of press, which is not my favorite part of this job, he makes it so interesting and so fun.'
The actress added: 'I love playing someone that has no mental filter, that says everything that she feels. It's very liberating. I'm not very much like that, a little bit more controlled.'
Previn is the adopted daughter of Allen's former partner, Mia Farrow.

Their relationship began in late 1991 and became known to Farrow in January 1992.
Allen and Farrow's biological son, Ronan Farrow, said of Allen: 'He's my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression.'
But Soon-Yi Previn said in 1992 that she does not, and never did, consider Woody Allen to be her father figure and clarified that she said she considers classical musician André Previn to be her adoptive father.
