Patriotic polish! Princess Eugenie sports Union Flags on her fingernails as she and sister Beatrice attend the Epsom Derby

She and her sister decided to play it safe with their Jubilee outfits leaving the outrageous fascinators in the wardrobe for their grandmother's big day.
But while she and her sister Beatrice kept it chic and simple for the celebrations, Princess Eugenie went all patriotic when it came to her nails.
Eugenie, 22, arrived at the Epsom Derby today to mark the beginning of the Diamond Jubilee weekend flashing Union Flags on her fingernails.

As she leaned over the railing of the Royal balcony, the flags were clearly visible on her fingernails, the result of some painstaking work by a steady-handed manicurist.

Last year she and Beatrice shocked the nation when they wore rather unusual headwear to the Royal wedding, but today they were in more plain attire and had certainly toned things down.

As they arrived at the Racecourse, Beatrice, 23, and Eugenie, 22, smiled at the waiting crowds as they prepared to enjoy their grandmother's special weekend.
Redhead Beatrice wore a rather unusual floral lace dress that featured cropped sleeves and a khaki green trim.

She teamed the pretty dress - which fell just above the knee - with black shiny heels and a fascinator that featured a large flower in the same khaki green.
Her younger sister was less adventurous when it came to her choice of attire and chose to wear a black and white checked dress that was gathered at the neckline.
Floral fancy: Beatrice teamed her lace dress with dark heels and a matching clutch bag

She teamed it with nude high heels and a matching clutch bag, and at times kept her head down as they walked past the crowds.
Her headpiece was also rather plain, and was navy blue with several white stripes on the side.

After mingling with guests, the princesses were spotted enjoying the racing from a balcony and stayed close to one another at all times.
Their grandmother certainly stood out more than them when it came to her choice of outfit.

The Queen chose a regal blue jacket and matching hat which she wore with a white and blue floral dress.
She and her granddaughters were not only treated to a performance by Katherine Jenkins singing the National Anthem, but they also got the chance to watch Britain's Got Talent winners Pudsey and Ashleigh do their routine too.
