Black to basics! Alicia Keys looks stylish in silk blouse and thigh- high slit skirt as she attends fashion event in Paris

She is currently the face of Givenchy’s newest fragrance, Dahlia Divin.

And Alicia Keys showed exactly why she was chosen by the fashion house as she made a stylish arrival to a private event held by the brand in France on Monday night.

The 33-year-old was seen leaving her hotel in Paris rocking an all-black ensemble teamed with edgy make-up.

Layering up with a black silk blouse and a high-waisted thigh split maxi skirt, she slung a blazer over her shoulders.

She gave a slight flash of her legs as she added height to the look with black knee-high boots.

Drawing attention to her eyes with dark purple eyeshadow and strong brows, she completed her look with a plaited bun.

The singer, a mother of two, shares a longterm friendship with Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci. She told WWD of the designer, ‘Spiritually we’re a lot alike.

The fashion world can make you a little soulless. So when I met him, it was nice to see that he’s really soulful.’

The two first worked together in 2011 on a project celebrating the tenth anniversary of Ms Keys’ first album, Songs in A Minor, when he created costumes for four celebratory concerts.

The songbird appeared to be without her 36-year-old husband Swizz Beatz on the trip - as he was likely at home watching two-month-old Genesis Ali Dean, who was born on December 27.

Together, the couple who wed in 2010, also has four-year-old son Egypt. Last month, Alicia joined the likes of Jay Z, Rihanna and Madonna to launch Tidal, a streaming service being billed as the first artist-owned platform for music and video.

She was revealed as one of the co-owners of the subscription service, which is the brainchild of Jay Z. Unlike rivals Spotify, the service will not have a free tier - meaning the musicians stand to make more money from it.
