Assemble! On Sunday fans got a glimpse of Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, and Jamie Bell as their Fantastic Four alter egos in the first full-length trailer
Calculating: Kate sized up the new kid in Fantastic Four's first trailer as she was introduced to Miles Teller's Reed Richards
The video begins with the series' Dr. Storm (played by Reg E. Cathey) facing scrutiny as his scientific endeavors have, as of yet, not been profitable enough for his investors.
However, he ensures them that there is a change coming, thanks to Reed Richards, played by The Divergent Series: Insurgent star Miles Teller.
'He knows answers to questions we don't even know to ask yet,' he says, cryptically, as Miles is seen excitedly entering a large lab.
Not convinced: The trailer begins with Dr. Storm facing scrutiny from investors, as his scientific endeavors have not been profitable, as of late
The missing piece: However, he ensures investors that everything will change now that they have Richard Reed (Miles), who 'knows answers to questions we don't even know to ask yet'
New kid: Miles' character seemed giddy as he entered the expansive lab for the first time
He is then introduced to the Doctor's daughter, Sue Storm, played by Kate Mara from Netflix hit House of Cards.
'You want to be famous?' she asks him, to which his innocent - and foreshadowing reply is: 'I just want my work to make a difference.'
The ambitious scientist then meets spitfire Johnny Storm, played by Michael B. Jordan - who is also set to star in another reboot this year, for the Rocky franchise, Creed - who allegedly 'doesn't take orders well.'
Intentions: Kate's character quizzes Miles on his end goal, to which he innocently replies: 'I just want my work to make a difference'
Here comes trouble? Michael B. Jordan's Johnny Storm (second from left) comes with the warning that he 'doesn't take orders well'
'Don't let any of these lab coats give you any crap, all right?' a brooding Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) tells Miles.
The foursome is later seen gearing up to enter a machine that the suits who were skeptical earlier are now hailing as 'incredible.'
'They just cracked interdimensional travel,' Dr. Storm says, as the trailer shows the crew preparing for liftoff.
Body guard: A brooding Jamie Bell - as Ben Grimm - advises Miles, 'Don't let any of these lab coats give you any crap, all right?'
Success: Sheepish scientist Reed fails at fist bump when he and Johnny realize the success of their most recent experiment
Suit up: The group prepare to test their experiment, as Dr. Storm can be heard exclaiming: 'They just cracked interdimensional travel'
The group have a safe landing, but then things go awry as they begin to lose crew members as the scientists are surrounded by flames.
A voice then announces: 'Four have survived. All exhibit unique physical conditions,' as the foursome are finally revealed as their iconic alter egos: The Invisible Woman (Kate), The Human Torch (Michael), Mr. Fantastic (Miles), and The Thing (Jamie).
'You opened a door you don't know how to close. You don't know anything about what's coming,' an ominous voice announces.
Safe landing: The dangerous mission seems to be going well at first, as the group is spotted landing on a foreign planet
Mayday: However, it quickly goes south as the mission loses men, while the crew is then surrounded by flames
Noticing changes: Following the doomed mission, the foursome begin to exhibit physical changes, finally becoming their iconic Fantastic Four alter egos
Meanwhile, the Fantastic Four are seen in costume, as text on the screen reads: 'When you change the world, prepare to defend it,' after which Miles' character hesitantly asks: 'What's coming?'
'Doom,' replies a hooded figure, cloaked in black, and with a metallic, glowing face - giving us the first look at Toby Kebbell's Dr. Doom.
'If you want to stop him, it's going to take everything you have,' Dr. Storm concludes, alongside clips of the foursome demonstrating their fantastic new abilities.
Things are heating up: Michael - The Human Torch - shows off his new power as he bursts into flame in a few frames
Examinations: Mr. Fantastic - Miles - lays strapped to a table in one scene following the scientists' traumatic trip
Bigger problems: Jamie's character has even more to brood about when their journey turns him into The Thing
Marvel last brought the series to life in 2005, in a motion picture adaptation starring Ioann Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm.
That was followed by a sequel in 2007, also directed by Tim Story, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Fantastic Four is due in theaters August 7.
Meet Dr. Doom: When a shaky Miles Teller asks: 'What's coming?' a hooded figure - played by Toby Kebbell simply responds: 'Doom'
Reboot: The Marvel story was last told by Ioann Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis in 2005's Fantastic Four, directed by Tim Story
