'Little girl from Cornwall': Thandie Newton shares sweet throwback childhood portrait with fans after attending Women in the World Summit
She's a household name in the United States, but Thandie Newton is still holding onto her British roots.
The actress, who grew up in Penzance, Cornwall, posted a cute image of herself as a little girl to her Twitter account, hours after she was pictured stepping out in New York on Thursday.
Thandie captioned the cute snap: 'Little girl from Cornwall... Humbling to be in NY for @WomenintheWorld.'

In the picture, Thandie is seen wearing a white dress with a pretty pink bow tied around the waist and white knee-high socks.
Her hair is tied up and she shows off her adorable smile as she gazes over her left shoulder.
It's clear to see the resemblance in the youngster in the flashback photo, and the stunning adult she is today.
Earlier in the day, the 42-year-old was spotted leaving the Bowery Hotel in New York City in a stylish and eye-catching ensemble.

Wearing a a bright yellow knee-length skirt and black and orange patterned coat, the former ER actress looked stylish as she waited for a cab outside the hotel.
She was in the Big Apple for the Women in the World Summit, which brings together women leaders and activist to share stories for a better life for women a girls.
During her trip, the actress, who is currently starring in NBC mini-series The Slap, tweeted: 'So good to be back in NYC'.
She added: 'Inspiring night @womenintheworld Change for Good on a global scale felt possible.'

Last year, the Hollywood beauty, who was born in London and lived in Zambia for three years before moving to Cornwall with her family, opened up about her childhood on the south west coast, revealing her family were subject to racist abuse.
She said her father Nick, who is white British, tried to protect them – but her mother Nyasha, a Zimbabwean, encouraged her daughter to avoid attracting attention to protect her from racism.
Thandie told The Times: 'It was a beautiful environment but very backward when it came to racial politics... Moving from Zambia to Cornwall in the 1970s was an extraordinary experience.'
The star has been married to Ol Parker for 17 years and has two daughters Ripley, 15, Nico, 11 and one year old son Booker.
