Gigi Hadid mixed elegance with sheer daring at Cannes Film Festival's most high-profile event on Thursday.

The 20-year-old model certainly turned heads, flashing oodles of cleavage when she stepped onto the red carpet at amfAR's 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

And she wasn't the only one, as her 18-year-old sister Bella, who is also a model, chose a similarly plunging gown at the bash.

Blonde beauty Gigi wore a stunning white Tom Ford gown featuring a gaping cut-out at the front and thigh-high split which flashed her toned legs.

The dress put Gigi's cleavage on full display and fortunately appeared to be fixed in place to avoid any extreme wardrobe malfunctions.

The daughter of Yolanda Foster teamed the frock with gorgeous nude suede heels and opted for a dusky brown eye-shadow and pink tinted lip gloss for an au naturel look.

And while Gigi might be the better known of the model sisters, Bella gave her a run for her money in her similarly striking gown.

The deeply plunging dress dipped almost to her waist, giving onlookers more than a glimpse of her cleavage.

And that wasn't all, the black lace dress was almost completely sheer, revealing her long legs.

Brunette Bella wore her hair around her shoulders as she confidently strutted the runway for a good cause.

Earlier Bella arrived at the event in a similarly plunging dress and black heels.

This year is the 22nd annual black-tie gala at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, situated just half an hour drive from Cannes.

Last year's event raised a record $35 million for amfAR, a foundation dedicated to ending AIDS through research.

As well as the live auction - which saw a stunning Harry Winston cluster necklace up for grabs - the event included musical performances and a fashion show.

Meanwhile, the rumour mill has already started whirring since Gigi's split from boyfriend Cody Simpson.

While there was speculation that the model has been romancing Joe Jonas, the 25-year-old singer shot down rumours during an interview with Access Hollywood on Thursday saying he's a single man.

The duo have been seen on a number of outings in New York together over the past few months.

It was revealed earlier this month that Gigi and Australian crooner Cody had ended their relationship.

In a statement released to E! News a representative for Gigi confirmed reports that the young couple had called time on their romance.

'Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career,' the model's rep said.

Adding: 'They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future.'
