The 36-year-old star turned heads in a strapless low-cut bustier black gown with flowing tulle skirt and glittering rhinestone detail.

Kerry simply accentuated her ensemble with a small clutch bag by designer Bottega Veneta and a Monique Pean ring.
Her dark hair was swept back in a single smooth wave and held in place with a slim rhinestone headband.
Her make-up was impeccably neat and understated as she showed up to support the Human Rights Campaign, which pushes for equal rights among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups.

Kerry was joined at the event by singer Lance Bass and his boyfriend Michael Turchin and film director Rob Reiner, as well as a few of her castmates from Scandal it seems.

Earlier, Kerry wrote: 'I'm excited & #proud to hang with my @ScandalABC family tonight at the @HRC gala celebrating the ABC/Disney Television Group! Getting glam!'

The actress is riding high with two recent hits, Django Unchained and the controversial television series Scandal, in which she plays Olivia Pope who embarks on a steamy affair with the White, married president.
As Kerry explained in an interview with February's Ebony magazine, she was attracted to the storyline.
'I was a little concerned because [Olivia] has a scandalous relationship with the [occupant of the] White House,' the actress told Ebony.

'I thought, "If the president on the show is Black, I will not do the show."
'Because to me, it was too important a moment. I didn’t want to do anything that compromised my relationship with the [president] or that made it seem like I had an insider view on the Obama presidency.
'I thought that would be so disrespectful and so against all the work that I had done.'
