From Hollyoaks to Hollywood: Emma Rigby wows as evil Red Queen on set of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland

Being a TV star can be exhausting as Emma Rigby is just discovering.
The former Hollyoaks actress has been on a high since landing the plum role of the murderous Red Queen in brand new ABC series, Once Upon A Time In Wonderland but clearly the long days on set are taking a toll.
The 23-year-old blonde beauty arrived for filming in Vancouver, Canada dressed down in dark pants and an oversized hooded sweatshirt and after a stop in hair and make-up, grabbed a hot beverage to kick start her day.

Emma - who also sported bright red flip-flops with a heart design - was spotted yawning before she got her drink but like a pro, it wasn’t long before she was smiling.
With her hair in an updo and wearing a red tiara, gold and red choker, long black velvet skirt and elaborate red jacket, Emma looked every inch the notorious Red Queen.
Emma was joined by fellow up-and-coming actresses Sophie Lowe and Lauren McKnight on set.

Sophie, 23 will play Alice in the new series while 24-year-old Lauren has been cast as a mystery new character, who is associated with the Red Queen.
Sophie looked sweet and innocent a purple leather waistcoat, white lace dress and knee high boots while Lauren– who was carrying a knife - was dressed for action.
She wore leather trousers, a flowing blouse, waistcoat and cloak with a Peter Pan style hat.
The new ABC series, a spin-off of 2011's Once Upon A Time, will see Alice tumble back down the rabbit hole for one last time to see if Wonderland truly is real.

Penned by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the pilot was directed by Ralph Hemecker.
Based on Lewis Carroll's iconic fairytale tome Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, a trailer released in May opens with Alice being led down a hall in what appears to be a mental institution.
She then enters a room, where she is asked a series of questions by doctors, who seem to be concerned of the tales she has told of the fantasy land.
Ready for action: Lauren is set to play a 'mystery character' associated with the Red Queen in the new TV series and she looked ready for action on the Vancouver set

One of the men fumes: 'You encountered all of these things by merely falling down a rabbit hole? Alice, if you wish to be released from this facility you must co-operate with us.
'You were an ignored little girl who wanted to be loved. You created a fantasy land who helped you become who you wanted to become.
‘You're not the first one to do it. But you're the first one to grow up and still believe in it.'

It is then that the character, who is older than the traditional Alice, is transported back to her time in Wonderland, as images of the murderous Red Queen as well as the iconic white rabbit and a hookah-smoking caterpillar flash up.
The protagonist appears keen to turn her back on the mystery world and forget all memories of her former love, a genie named Cyrus - played by Peter Gadiot - until she's offered the opportunity to go back and secure proof of the existence of Wonderland.
