'I've got so much left to give!': The X Factor boot camp twist comes into play as Zoe Devlin replace Katie Markham in Sharon's final six
But with an added twist that allowed each judge to reshuffle their final six, it was promising singer Katie Markham who paid the ultimate price after losing her seat to Zoe Devlin after an indecisive Sharon controversially based her decision on the opinions of her judging panel.
With Sabrina Ramikie and Joseph Whelan already occupying two seats, the night began promisingly courtesy of Shelley Smith, who impressed the judges with a rendition of karaoke staple Respect - originally sung by Aretha Franklin.

'What an amazing voice you have, from the low to the high... that was incredible,' raved Gary.
'I think you're special,' added Louis.
Up on stage an emotional Shelley replied: 'I think you're special too.'
The mother-of-one was duly given the fourth seat before being reunited with her daughter, who anxiously waited backstage.
Katie quickly took the fifth seat and Andrea Magee taking the sixth, it was down to 26-year-old student Lorna Simpson to try and oust one of the final six with a rendition of Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).
Showstopper: Zoe Devlin impressed the judges with a performance of Joe Cocker hit Beautiful

That performance had the audience up on their feet and the judges looking at each other in awe - and gave Sharon her first selection headache as the twist once more came into play.
'That was the surprise performance of the night. That was sensational,' said Gary.
You came out and you nailed it,' added Louis, before turning to Sharon. 'Mrs O, what are you gonna do? This girl is too good to lose.'
'I want you in my top six,' said Sharon definitively. 'But that mans that someone is going to have to lose their seat.'
I'd pick Joseph: Builder Joseph Whelan can't believe it as Gary selects him for the chop
All too much: Joseph rises from his seat as Sharon looks to her fellow panelists for advice
Don't do this to me: The builder has his head in his hands as he pleads for his place at judges houses
That someone was Sabrina, and she took the news with good grace, warmly embracing Katie before exiting stage left.
Zoe Devlin brought up the rear, and with much riding on her performance she pulled off quite possibly one of the best of the day with a rendition of Beautiful by Joe Cocker.
The audience loved it - and so did the judges.
'Beautifully sung, well done,' said Gary.
'You're very different to the singers that are already in the seat' said Sharon. 'Zoe, I want you to have a seat. However I want to ask my fellow judges... who would you give up in place of Zoe?
'Based on vocals alone, I'd choose Joseph,' said Gary.
Promising: The night got off to a good start with a rousing performance from Shelley Smith
Raising the roof: Lorna Simpson's performance won her a seat in the final six at the expense of Sabrina Ramikie
That decision had the tattooed builder up on his feet: 'Don't do this to me man!' he pleaded.
Louis opted for Katie, and Sharon agreed: 'I've made my decision, the person I'm sending home is Katie.'
'I've got so much left to give.' she told Dermot as she exited the stage.
With Gary taking charge of the groups there was a surprise in the form of a new, unnamed three-piece group comprised of former auditionees Jeanette, Rielle and SeSe.
While the girls furiously rehearsed backstage, Brick City were first up with a gospel version of Madonna hit Like a Prayer that had Louis singing along.
'You've come out like a ready made pop group,' he said.
Gary agreed: 'Get on over there,' he said, pointing at the six empty seats.
Bricking it: Urban group Brick City impressed the judges, in particular Gary Barlow, on Sunday evening
Hopeful: The band chat to Dermot backstage at The X Factor boot camp
After a bright start there was a problem with Rough Copy member Kazeem, who admitted his visa wouldn't be ready before judges houses - meaning the group had to progress as a duo.
With a distraught Kazeem waiting in the wings, the remaining two band-members performed Oasis hit Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
It was almost as if the song had been sung for their founding member, who cried his eyes out at the song reached a climax.
'Rough Copy have had a rough time but you're here and you gave a great performance,' said Sharon.

'To see you as a two it's different, and I have to make a decision here,' admitted Gary, adding: 'Boys, go and sit over there will you.'
Chirpy boyband Kingsland Road claimed another seat with a performance of Stevie Wonder hit For Once in my Life.
'IO love that you dame prepared and well rehearsed, you're super cute,' said Nicole
'You've definitely got everything you need to be the next big boyband,' said Gary, waving t one of the empty chairs.
Girl group Xyra - close friends Amy, Laura, Sasha and Nadina - came next with Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.
'Out of all the bands you were the one I was least looking forward to,' said Gary with a smile, adding: 'Take a seat.'
Fit for a king: Boyband Kingsland Road are a hit with the judging panel on Sunday evening, claiming a place at judges houses
Excited: The band wait backstage, shortly before winning the judges over
With six acts to go the Take That singer only had two seats to fill and man band Tenors of Rock claimed one of them with Queen hit Who Wants to Live Forever.
Urban group Code 4 came next, and Nicole was impressed: 'If you were in my category I'd give you a seat!' she raved.
'What a way to fight for your place!' said Gary, offering them the final seat.
That meant the pressure was on Jeanette, Rielle and SeSe to stake their claim for a place at judges houses - despite having only been together for less than a day. - but they pulled it out of the bag with a performance of Rihanna hit We Found Love.
'I'm not gonna lie, there was some notes that went a little crazy at times...but three stars up there and you've never shined brighter together,' said Nicole.
Unknown quantity: Gary's new girl group, comprised of Jeanette, Rielle and SeSe, were formed just two hours before their boot camp audition
Looking ahead: The girls hoped to impress the judges at boot camp - and their hopes paid off
'This is a big decision for me, admitted Gary. 'I've made a decision, girls I'm sorry I want you in my final six.'
This meant losing one more group, and it was Tenors of Rock who drew the short straw.
'You've done yourselves proud,' said Gary, embracing them as they left the stage.
Final group Next of Kin took a risk by performing one of Gary's own tracks - Take That hit Rule the World.
'I thought it was very, very dated. I thought I was in Bee Gees world,' said Sharon.
'For me this is a big decision because who do you replace? said Gary. 'Guys, I'm sorry it's home-time.'
With Gary's final six chosen, it was Louis' turn to select his boys, and 19-year-old barman Sam Callahan kicked things off with an acoustic rendering of Iris by Goo Goo Dolls.
Hit and miss: Tenors of Rock won a place in the final six, only to lose it as the twist came into play
Parental guidance: Next of Kin won themselves a place in the final six
'You came out fighting and you won me over,' said Sharon.
'I like your passion and I like the fact that you came out fighting, my only problem is... are you gonna win the competition for me?' mused Louis
That comment prompted outrage from the judging panel, but the Irishman
Next up was Paul Akister, and the pub singer pulled out all the stops to impress Louis with an impressive performance of I'd Rather Go Blind.
'Your tone is really soulful, it's like hot chocolate,' said Sharon
'You've got the voice, but are you gonna sell records?' Queried Louis. 'Paul, take the second seat please.'

Barclay Beales was hoping to make another impression on the judges after wowing Nicole with his yodeling during his first audition.
The unemployed 17-eyar-old went for Respect by Aretha Franklin, but an erratic performance left the former Pussycat Doll bemused and Sharon raising her hand in a bid to stop the rendition.
'What WAS that?' she demanded.
'Barclay, at least it was different, but I'm sorry - you're going home,' said Louis.
Having impressed with Spanish rendition of Enrique Iglesias during his live audition, Alejandro Fernandez was back with an impressive performance of Little Things by One Direction.
'Great song choice, it really suited you,' said Sharon.
Impressive: Pub singer Paul Akister got the thumbs up - and a place in the final six
Tough choices: The judges were left with some difficult decision to make as a result of the new twist
'It was good, I know the girls like you,' added Louis. 'It is my decision and I only wanna pick people who will go far... Senor, take a seat.'
With three seats left and five boys left to perform it was Ryan Mathie who claimed the fourth, while rocker Luke Friend also impressed with Heart hit Alone.
'You have the ingredients of a star,' said Sharon.
Louis agreed, offering him the fifth seat.
Youngster Giles Potter received a stern talking to from Gary during his final audition, and the Take That frontman's word had obviously paid off.
With the audience clapping in appreciation, he broke down after performing Jason Mraz hit I Won't Give Up.
Not happy: Barclay Beales failed to impress with his yodeling on Sunday evening
Taken aback: Sharon looks on in horror as Barclay performs
'It's by far your best audition to date,' said Gary.
'It's hard to believe you're only 16,' said Louis. 'Are you good enough for the live shows?'
The answer was yes, meaning an emotional Giles bagged the sixth seat.
The pressure was on, and Tom Mann stepped up to the plate with a rendering of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - but despite impressing the audience, the judges were divided.
'I like your voice a lot and If I turned on the radio and hear you I'd know who it was straight away,' said Gary.
'I'm looking over there and I'm asking, are you better than any of those six?' queried Louis. 'Tom, I'm sorry, it's the end of the road.'

Student Nicholas McDonald was last to perform, and the 16-year-old made a game attempt at winning a seat with another performance of I Won't Give Up.
His rendering of the track had a nervous Giles biting his nails, and Dermot admitted his performance had left Louis with a 'big problem.'
'You sang it so well... you should be so proud of yourself,' raved Sharon.
'I think you're gonna give Louis problems because he doesn't have any seats left,' said Gary.
'If you were in my category I would swap you,' confessed Nicole.

'Nicholas that was my favorite audition of the night,' said Louis. 'But someone else is gonna lose their seat.'
That person was Alejandro, a decision that surprised the audience and left the boy in question devastated.
'Good job Louis, I know that was hard.' said Nicole as the two boys embraced.
'I went with my heart,' he admitted.
With just 24 acts remaining the next step will be judges houses.
The X Factor continues next Saturday on ITV1.
