Vanity Fair will release more photos, interviews, and video on Monday in honour of May 4th, which is known among Star Wars fans as Star Wars Day.
May 4th was designated Star Wars Day, as 'May the fourth be with you' is a play on the iconic Star Wars saying, 'May the force be with you.'
The Force Awakens, which debuts December 18, takes place 30 years after the events of episode VI – Return Of The Jedi (1983).

The Force Awakens also features original stars Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).
Other newcomers to the film franchise, joining Ridley and Boyega, are Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar Isaac, and Gwendoline Christie.

The second Star Wars trilogy, consisting of episodes I, II, and III, was made after IV, V, and VI, with the first hitting theatres in 1999 and the third in 2005.
The Force Awakens is being directed by J.J. Abrams, who was 11-years-old when Star Wars was first released.
'That moment transported me,' he said at a panel event in Anaheim, California in mid-April.

'It was the first time a movie made me laugh that way... the film was brilliant and had such heart and the biggest thing for me was that it had such hope.'
Ford was unable to attend the press conference, as he was still in recovery from the plane crash he suffered on March 5.
The 72-year-old actor sustained broken bones and serious injuries after crash landing in a golf course in Venice, Los Angeles when the engine of his plane failed.
