Ice to be back! Deadly Warriors are given a modern makeover as they prepare to fight Doctor Who in new series

Their appearance in the show 46 years ago caused children to hide behind the sofa in terror.
And now the Ice Warriors are set for a return to Doctor Who... with a twist.
The warriors who, along with the Autons, Cybermen and Daleks are the Time Lord's fiercest foes, have been given a modern makeover ahead of their comeback when the new series of the BBC drama airs later this month.
Defrosted: The Ice Warriors make their return to the 27th series of Doctor Who
Garish: The old Ice Warriors looked more reptilian in their Doctor Who appearances
The garish green colour of the former warriors has been replaced by a metallic silver sheen - making their reptilian outer-shell look even more fearsome.
The Ice Warriors are martians who had tried to take over the Earth when their planet was destroyed.
Thankfully the Doctor thwarted their plans and the formerly peaceful aliens may well be back for revenge.
Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker have all faced off with the chilling foe, and now the eleventh doctor - Matt Smith - will have his chance to fight the enemies.
The Ice Warriors' comeback features in an episode written by Mark Gatiss, and is something the writer has been dreaming of for quite a while.
Chilling: Matt Smith will be the fourth Doctor to face the frozen foe
Doctor Who boss Steven Moffat told the Daily Mirror that the 45-minute show is 'an absolute cracker'.
He added: 'It was Mark’s idea to bring the Ice Warriors back. He’d been pitching it for a while.'
Joining the 27th series of Doctor Who is new sidekick Clara, who made her debut in the show's Christmas special The Snowmen.
Jenna-Louise Coleman, who plays Clara in the show, said she watched old films at the request of Matt to help their on-screen chemistry.
'When I started on Doctor Who Matt said to me "Watch Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy films!" We were talking about our dynamic and trying to figure it out, realising we were a double act.' Jenna-Louise told SFX magazine.

Good match: Jenna-Louise said she watched old Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey movies to better her chemistry with Matt
And although the actor admitted his kiss with the new sidekick was his favourite moment of the series, the thing he loved the most was filming past episodes in New York.
Matt told a US magazine: 'If I could film we’d film every episode of Doctor Who in New York.'
'I have an affinity with the city. It has some wonderful locations and it is devastatingly vast and huge. Central Park looks amazing on camera.”
Romance: Matt said kissing his new sidekick was his best Doctor Who moment from the last series
When the series returns at the end of March, another foe will also be gunning for the Time Lord - the Mummies.
Mummies are servicer robots given their name because of the protective bandages wrapped round their bodies.
They faced off against Tom Baker's incarnation of the Doctor in the episode, Pyramids of Mars in the 13th series.
The new series of Doctor Who returns on BBC One, Saturday March 30.
New York calling: After filming scenes in Manhattan, Matt said he'd love to do every episode there
